  • Introduction to ChatGPT and Generative AI: This workshop begins by exploring various textual AI models and their unique characteristics. Afterwards we will focus on ChatGPT and learn how to craft effective inputs, understand the concept of model's hallucinations and uncover the inner mechanisms behind ChatGPT's answers generation process.

  • ChatGPT Extensions and Customization: We will discover special extensions to the base ChatGPT model that can simplify and streamline your personal and professional life. We will learn how to adjust conversation settings, use GPT agents for specific tasks and alter developer settings to create powerful solutions that cater to our specific needs. 

  • AI in Language Translation and Video Generation: We will compare leading AI tools for language translation, such as ChatGPT, Google Translate and DeepL. Moreover, we will explore the progress made in AI-generated video content by examining videos created by Sora, Synthesia and Pika.

  • Generative AI for Image Creation: We will explore generative AI tools like DALL·E 3, Stable Diffusion and Midjourney for image creation and learn about the distinctions between these tools, crucial factors to consider when generating images, and how to adjust parameters for optimal results.

  • Ethical and Societal Implications of AI: In the last part of the workshop, we will explore thought-provoking and relevant questions about the impact of AI on copyright, innovation, job replacement, human biases and intellectual property rights.

Microsoft anticipates that, just as Excel and Word have become indispensable tools in our daily work, Copilot will soon be an integral part of our workflow, seamlessly integrated into these applications. Discover how AI tools can help you streamline tasks, achieve better results in less time, and unlock new possibilities in your daily work.

This workshop is designed for anyone whose work involves using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or SharePoint.   • Introduction to GenAI, Utilizing ChatGPT and Gemini: We will begin by demonstrating how to effectively utilize AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini and how to seamlessly integrate their outputs into the applications you rely on for your work.

  • Microsoft Copilot in Word, Excel and PowerPoint: In the next part of the workshop, our focus will shift to Microsoft Copilot. We will explore the capabilities of Microsoft Copilot within Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Using practical examples, we will demonstrate how to generate content that precisely matches our specifications, modify text styles and make other editorial changes, design and modify presentations either from scratch or based on existing documents.

  • Copilot in OneNote and Excel: We will show you how Copilot can assist you in creating to-do lists, notes and analyzing data via the chat functionality, as if you were talking to a real person, using natural language.

  • Copilot as Your Executive Assistant: In the final segment of the workshop, we will introduce you to an exciting concept of Copilot becoming your personal "executive assistant". Copilot will be able to integrate itself across your entire suite of Microsoft applications and files. Learn how to delegate tasks and ask questions through natural conversation with Copilot.

Please be aware that Microsoft Copilot is currently in a very early stage of development. As a result, some functionalities may be limited or subject to change as the product continues to evolve and expand in the future.

1. Introduction to Generative AI

  • This opening lecture provides an overview of generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and other transformative tools. Students will learn about the basic principles that power these models, understand their real-world applications and explore their potential to transform industries.

 

2. Python Programming with Generative AI Assistance

  • This part introduces an innovative way to learn to code by incorporating generative AI tools like ChatGPT into the learning experience. Students will interact with AI to understand and generate Python code elements such as for loops and functions. This approach focuses on learning to effectively communicate with AI to improve coding practices, preparing students for a future where AI works hand-in-hand with developers to  streamline and optimize programming tasks.

3. Prompt Engineering & OpenAI API

  • Explore techniques and the best practices of prompt engineering using the OpenAI API. Students will practice crafting precise prompts to achieve desired outputs from AI models, a crucial skill for developing intuitive AI-driven applications. Within the lecture, we will build several of these applications, such as “Natural language to SQL query” or “Automated blog post generator”.

4. Exploring Open Source AI with Hugging Face

  • This lecture introduces the wealth of open-source AI models available through platforms like Hugging Face. Students will learn how to select, download and use various models, understanding the importance of open-source communities in advancing AI technology.

5. Implementing Langchain and RAG Pipelines

  • Focusing on advanced tools for AI applications, this lecture covers Langchain and RAG Pipelines, which enhance the retrieval of information and integration of various AI functionalities into seamless workflows.

6. Data and Model Engineering Essentials

  • Learn the best practices in data preparation and model deployment essential for building robust AI solutions. This lecture also introduces ethical considerations and data privacy, which are pivotal in deploying reliable and responsible AI systems.

7. Command Line Proficiency and Version Control with Git

  • This lecture boosts students' efficiency in using command line interfaces and Git for version control, essential tools for any software engineer to manage project environments and collaborations effectively.

8. Scripting and Environment Management

  • Students will gain hands-on experience in scripting automation and managing different environments using Anaconda, a key knowledge for maintaining project consistency and operational stability across development and production stages.

9. AWS Cloud Fundamentals

  • Introducing Cloud computing essentials with AWS, this lecture covers deploying and managing applications using EC2, S3 and Elastic Beanstalk. Students will also learn about Cloud resource management and cost optimization strategies.

10. Building and Deploying AI Web Apps

  • The final lecture integrates all the skills learned into a capstone project where students will build, containerize and deploy a web-based AI application using Docker and Kubernetes. This provides a real-world experience of bringing an AI solution to life from concept to deployment.
